Impressed. Everything as promised, no crazy up selling. I love the fact that they show you digital photos of repairs. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Solid service here for my VW. For the people who post, the reoccurring negatives are cost. Just because you drive a late model BMW does not mean the parts and service are going to be magically less expensive. Consider buying a Ford Taurus that you can take to Goodyear and Firestone. Oh, and the cost of real services (not just oil change with a coupon you found) at Fat City are no more expensive than those places-see for yourself. Also probably the cleanest and most organized shop I have even seen, which is just how you want it to be. Thanks Lance!

I have been delighted with the service that I get from Fat City. They really are not that expensive when it comes right down to it. Taking care of the problem the first time and having someone really take the time to help me understand how to maintain my car is priceless. -Nothing but good experiences for me and my friends that use them.

Live in the greater Seattle area? Own a BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi or Land Rover? Looking for a honest mechanic and tired of going to the dealer? Then make your way to Fat City as Lance Smith and his talented team of mechanics. Sure sounds like an ad, but they are a wonderful delight when the mechanic industry (and dealers) seem to rip you off whenever they can. We've been taking our cars there for years and although not the cheapest service in town (still less than dealer!), they help me understand what I am paying for (as I missed auto shop in high school), give a very thorough review of what is wrong, fair estimate upfront, stay in contact for when it will be ready and deliver as promised. what is nice is they also will tell you that the amount you are going to sink into it might or might not be worth the money instead of just taking it from you (for those of us that have emotional attachments to our cars). Wish all mechanic shops could be this professional, courteous and thorough. Thanks Lance & Team for establishing a bar other shops could learn from.

I've had both good and bad experiences with Fat City but today I realized what a good auto shop they can be. They are great at making time for you and it's easy to drop by (as long as there's available parking). The guy working the counter was really nice and explained everything to me along with quotes and friendly conversation. It's hard to find personable people these days and I will continue bringing my Mercedes to Fat City for that reason
